The Village of Boyle is located at the hub of the three largest employment sectors in Alberta-forestry, agriculture and natural resources. The growing needs of the industries present within our area have allowed the younger generation to finish school, attend post-secondary education and return home to our area were there is work ready and available for them. With the help of the opportunities available to our youth, we can rest assured that our communities will remain viable for years to come. Forestry Millar Western--- The Millar Western Forest Products Ltd. Sawmill and Planer Mill Operation is situated within the Village and provides employment to approximately 150 people including the Forest Management Staff. The mill site was purchased by Millar Western in 1993 and after a modernization and upgrade of the facility it was reopened in June of 1994. Millar Western has been a strong corporate partner to the Village and continues to support the community at every opportunity.

Alberta-Pacific --- Approximately 40 km north west of the Village one will find North America's largest single-line kraft pulp mill owned and operated by Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries Inc. It uses today's best technology and award-winning environmental practices in its manufacturing and woodlands operations, making it one of the cleanest mills in the world. Al-Pac was the first forest company in Canada to implement Ecosystem Management full scale on its 53,000 square kilometre Forest Management Agreement area (FMA). In Ecosystem Management, activities such as harvesting are designed to approximate natural disturbances such as fire. It is believed that by following nature's patterns, the forest will be better able to maintain its biodiversity.

Natural Resources Alberta is known for its natural resources, and exploration of our region for natural gas has been evident for a number of years. This particular industry employs seismic crews, heavy equipment operators, drilling companies, etc. within our area. Our region is dotted with wells, pipelines, and compressor stations and most importantly these facilities employ many local technical people. AgricultureIt was in response to the needs of the growing agricultural industry during the first half of the 20th century that Boyle grew from a small hamlet to the service centre that it still serves as today. Whether it is need of parts for equipment, feed supplements for cattle, or lumber supplies, farmers utilize the goods and services available to them in the Village of Boyle on a daily basis.
